In Episode 12 of The Austin Downbeat we sit down with folk singer/songwriter, Jaimee Harris! This is my second time sitting down with Jaimee and she is proving to be one of my favorite people to talk to. Jaimee has A LOT happening and we pack it all in a 30 minute conversation! She has collaborations with the likes of, Pat Byrne, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Sam Williams... and is about to begin a big tour with her partner, Mary Gauthier. With all the momentum moving forward, we take a moment to look back too. The growth, the inspiration (ahem, Jane Ellen Bryant and THAT LEOTARD!!), how deep her roots have grown into the soil of folk music and storytelling... she is exactly where she is meant to be and singing about exactly what she needs to be singing about.
