Hello Friends,

Last night, we all said "goodbye" to a decade. I can't help but think of all that's happened over the past ten years. I dropped out of college (sorry Mom) and moved to the city of my dreams: Austin, Texas. I learned how to run a medical office; scheduling patients, bookkeeping, entering labs, filing, etc... I went to jail... twice. I got sober. I lost 150 lbs. I lost friends and family so dear to me. I gained a lot of friends. I shared the stage with my musical heroes. I found folks willing to dedicate their time to share the stage with me. Each member of my band put his / her heart and soul into what we created together. We started as four and grew to seven. I made my first record and went on my first world tour. I signed my first record deal. I found the sweetest love; more accurately, it found me. It's been a decade of evolution and profound change. Now, it's time for another big change.

I moved to Austin at the end of 2009 and it brought the most wonderful people and opportunities into my life. In 2020, I'm making the big move to being a full time resident of Nashville. I'll be dedicating the majority of 2020 to writing, taking guitar lessons (I WILL learn how to solo), and shadowing in various studios. The past two years of touring constantly has revealed to me so many holes in my knowledge; holes I'd like to fill by taking the time to develop new skills.

In the meantime, I am excited to announce that I will be back in the studio in February to work on a special project with my friend Mark Hallman (Congress House Studio). I met Mark years ago at various parties around Austin. I'm not the best at parties and somehow I ended up always having the best conversations with Mark. Years later, I realized he'd produced so many Eliza Gilkyson records that I love. I love Mark Hallman. I'm so excited to spend two days working with him and I'm EXTREMELY looking forward to sharing what we create with you. I think you're gonna dig it. Stay tuned for more info.

The past ten years have brought me to places I've always wanted to go and expanded my friend and fan network far and wide! For that reason, I need a bit of your help. I want to make sure that my new friends all over the world don't get bombarded with too many updates. In the new year, I'd like to transition to sending you emails that are pertinent to your area and interests. So, I'd like to hear from you. If you can reply to this email to let me know your location (City / State / Country) and whether or not you'd like to continue receiving the monthly newsletter, or if you'd prefer to only receive notifications for events in your area, I'd be happy to make adjustments to your preferences. Plus, I like hearing from y'all.

Thank you to all of the kind folks in Baton Rouge, Jackson, Silverhill, Atlanta, Asheville, Charlotte, Chatt Hills, Grand Rapids, and Evanston for coming out to hear us. It was such a treat to play for you!

I hope things are great wherever you are this month! Mary and I have spent a wonderful week in Far West Texas (Marfa and Terlingua). We're currently watching the Linda Ronstadt documentary (again) on CNN. You can always reply to this e-mail to let me know how things are going in your world... especially if you wanna talk Linda Ronstadt. I love hearing from you guys.

Love,
Jaimee
