We're sixteen days away from the first day of summer! The air is changing in Nashville. Gauthier and I can really feel it on our evening walks. It's not just the air that's warming up... I've been woodshedding in my office in preparation for this month's return to the road! Earlier this week my friend Dylan Alldredge from Skinny Elephant Recording helped me put together my first ever pedalboard. I also had the SUPREME JOY of sharing the stage with fellow former Wacoan Brian Wright at Dee's Country Cocktail Lounge. You can watch the replay here. It's been so great trying out songs from the new record on stage. "Speaking" of new songs...
The new record is moving right along! We've completed the tracking and are moving into the mixing phase. I've been sharing exclusive video updates, photos, and news with my Folk N' Roll Fan Club family on Patreon.
It's almost time for one of my ultimate favorite festivals: The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, OK! To make up for missing it last year, I'll be performing every single day of the fest this year. I'm excited to announce Jared Tyler (Saugeye, Malcolm Holcombe) and Radoslov Lorkovic (Jimmy LaFave, Shawn Mullins) will join me for what's bound to be a beautiful set of music on Saturday of the fest. Come hang out in Woody's hometown for a great week of music, thoughtful discussion, and community.
