To say the past several days have been a whirlwind for Jaimee Harris would be a gross understatement. There were enough times that the Austin-based songwriter was left utterly and gleefully baffled at some incredible things falling into place, leading up to the release of her new album, Red Rescue, officially out tomorrow in a blaze of crimson glory.

It’s also no exaggeration to say that Harris took AmericanaFest in Nashville by storm. From performances with the incomparable Mary Gauthier and fellow Austin phenoms Eliza Gilkyson, Bonnie Whitmore and Western Youth, to an interview with LA Times music writer Randy Lewis, to an undoubtedly surreal and monumental moment sharing a stage with Gauthier, John Hiatt, Will Hoge and (holy hell) Rodney Crowell, Harris was floored by all the connections made and the outpouring of support. “I AM TRYING TO REMAIN CALM,” Harris recently wrote, shouting from the rooftops in an all-caps heart-burst, “…CAN EVERY WEEK BE AMERICANAFEST?” Hashtag: Dying.

Following her return to the Live Music Capital, and singing with the Western Youth crew on their recent Studio 1A performance, Harris has a show tonight at One-2-One, 1509 S. Lamar Blvd. Harris and Friends will include sets by The Watters, The Traveling Ones, and The Flying A’s. It’s an early start for the show. Doors open at 6 p.m., and The Flying A’s play at 6:30 p.m.
