March 2020 | Goin’ Places That I’ve Never Been

andre congress house

Hello Friends,

March is here! Were you ready for it? How was your February? I had a wonderful time co-writing with my new friend Pat Byrne, meeting Robert Plant at the Australian benefit, playing at The Bluebird twice - and listening to our friend Gurf Morlix once (at the same table with Buddy Miller - OMG!), riding more roller coasters in Texas, catching up with my Texas music pals at the Corpus Christi Songwriters' Festival, sharing the stage with folk rap superstar Jana Pochop, and RECORDING AT CONGRESS HOUSE!

We recorded nine songs in two days with an absolutely stellar team! Andre Moran engineered, Brian Patterson on guitar, Jane Ellen Bryant on BGVS, Jon Greene on the drums, Kris Nelson on bass and BGVS, Mark Hallman produced, Ray Bonneville came in to play harmonica, and Sammy P on the keys played...well, the keys. I AM SO PROUD OF THESE RECORDINGS AND CAN'T WAIT FOR Y'ALL TO HEAR THEM! Thanks to your incredible generosity last month, you guys helped us cover the cost of recording! We'd still love to reach our goal of mixing, mastering, and physical fulfillment. You can donate here. You can also make a purchase on the Jaimee Harris web store and use the code "STUDIO" to receive $5 off your order! We are so, so, so, so, so grateful!!!

This month, I'm excited to tour the west coast! I've never been north of California, so I am beyond stoked to play in Portland and Seattle! Then, it's back down to Texas for SXSW, up to Arkansas for some dates with Mary Gauthier, ending the month at The Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, and kicking off April on my birthday (and Emmylou Harris's birthday) in NYC! For our friends in The Netherlands, I'm excited to announce I will be supporting Gretchen Peters for her upcoming tour in May! So looking forward to being back in The Netherlands!

The past ten years have brought me to places I've always wanted to go and expanded my friend and fan network far and wide! For that reason, I need a bit of your help. I want to make sure that my new friends all over the world don't get bombarded with too many updates. In the new year, I'd like to transition to sending you emails that are pertinent to your area and interests. So, I'd like to hear from you. If you can reply to this email to let me know your location (City / State / Country) and whether or not you'd like to continue receiving the monthly newsletter, or if you'd prefer to only receive notifications for events in your area, I'd be happy to make adjustments to your preferences. Plus, I like hearing from y'all.

Thank you to all of the kind folks in Nashville, Corpus Christi, Ft. Worth, and Lewisville for coming out to hear us. It was such a treat to play for you!

I hope things are great wherever you are this month! You can always reply to this e-mail to let me know how things are going in your world.

Love,
Jaimee
