Tummy Tuck Essentials

Hello Friends,

It’s been two years since my tummy tuck. Ever since sharing a little bit of my tummy tuck story publicly, I’ve received private messages asking me what I wish I’d known before my tummy tuck. So, I’ve decided to share some items here that helped me survive my tummy tuck recovery.

Staying Comfy

These pillows are necessary. I mean NECESSARY. I did not order them before my surgery and ordered them within 48 hours after. My biggest regret was not having these pillows before. Just get them. You need them.

I went back on the road exactly six weeks after my surgery. This little pillow helped ease the harshness of the seatbelt during my recovery. It’s also great if you’re neurospicy and just need some sensory relief.

Compression socks. You need them. Might as well make them fun!

Why so many pillows? It turns out you use your midsection for everything. You will be shocked at how much you will miss those muscles. This pillow was my best friend during recovery. Also, I use this all the time when I travel now. I wasn’t a travel pillow girl before. Now I am. This pillow. This is the one.

STAYING CLEAN

A shockingly great dry shampoo. Showering can be an ordeal post-surgery. I was not a dry shampoo fan before surgery. Now, I dig it okay. This one converted me. This dry shampoo lives in our guest bathroom and my guests rave about it.

Wash your face. Wash your bod. These rule. As a neurospicy person, I keep these in my nightstand for low spoon days when I just can not bring myself to go wash my face before bed.

You know you’ve always wanted a squatty potty. This one is so stylish. You will be grateful you have it.

This stool is great for sitting in the shower. You’ll likely really, really want to sit in the shower.

This will help you shower, particularly as you start to become more independent in your recovery.

Health Stuff

My favorite electrolytes. You will so want electrolytes.

My post-op nurse made me drink this. I hated it, but apparently it was necessary. Godspeed.

Traditional stool softeners did not work for me. This worked.

Wearables

This robe was a lifesaver. Being able to have a place to put my drains was everything. Also, this robe just straight up rules. Great robe.

I needed to shake up my robe game. Mostly I wore robes. I liked this robe. I still wear this robe.

This jumpsuit was my jam in recovery! My post-op nurse sold me my binders (sorry to not be able to recommend those because they are important). This jumpsuit is easy on and off and covered my binder.

Easy on, easy off. Stylish. Recovery friendly.
