August 2019 Newsletter | New Mexico Rain

Hello Friends,

I hope you're making the most of these last days of summer! July was a GREAT month for us! We had a BLAST at WoodyFest. It was an honor to play the Pastures of Plenty stage with my full band! I also had a great time participating in my first panel. To spend a week in Woody's hometown, soaking up the great music birthed in that red dirt, is always an inspiring, important experience for me.

On my days off in Texas I swam in the springs, rode roller coasters with my friends, caught up with my hero-friends Eliza Gilkyson and Kathy McCarty, finally met the wonderful Pat Byrne, leant my guitar to Rich Brotherton (OMG) for a song at the Gallery, hung out with my brother Robby, attended the phenomenal Texas Recording Academy event (thanks, Peter Blackstock), and spent time with people I love dearly.

This month, I'll be singing BGVS for Mary Gauthier at the Edmonton Folk Festival and Rocky Mountain Folks Festival. I'll also be spending a week in New Mexico with Mary as she co-teaches a fantastic songwriting workshop with Eliza Gilkyson. I'm looking forward to writing and making steps to conceptualize the next record. I'll also likely listen to Michael Hearne's "New Mexico Rain" on repeat until Mary gives me the evil eye. Cause that's how I roll in New Mexico.

Thank you to all of the kind folks in Okemah, Austin, Labelle, Galveston, and Houston for coming out to hear us in your cities! We sure loved playing for you and hope to see you again sooner than later!

I hope things are great wherever you are this month! You can always reply to this e-mail to let me know how things are going in your world. I love hearing from you guys.

Love,
Jaimee
