December 2020 Newsletter | December on the Island

Hello Friends,

Greetings from beautiful Key West, FL. Mary and I worked double hard in November so we could sneak down here to Key West for some much-needed sunshine. It's astonishing how different things are down here. I've never seen water like this -- it's stunning. People are super serious about masks and even local police are enforcing mask-wearing on the streets. No resistance or arguing. Just people wearing masks for the greater good. It is so comforting.

We explored the island via Lloyd's Tropical Fruit Bike Tour. Lloyd showed us many kinds of unique fruits growing all over the island. Egg fruit, star fruit, a special kind of plum that tasted like a pixie stick, a super small citrus fruit that packed a serious sour punch, wild almonds, and key limes of course! We also stopped by the home Tennessee Williams owned when he lived on the island. What I would give to take a look around that property...

Yesterday, Mary and I spent our day out on the water with Captain Karen. She's been so generous giving us the local perspective here and hipping us to great eats, art, and water fun. If you're feeling the urge to slip away to a warmer destination for the holidays, you gotta spend a day on Captain Karen's boat!

I'm so grateful for this time to slow down. I feel the creative wheels turning again inside of me. I feel inspired again to create and to find creative ways to share art with all of you.

I have some live streams coming up this month for you, too! Sunday, November 29th I'll be Mary's guest on our weekly Sundays with Mary Show. I'm also playing a Zoom House Concert show for the wonderful folks at Macum Creek House Concerts on December 7th. Our November 13th Virtual Reality show has been rescheduled to February 6th due to some technical difficulties. I'm working on putting some things in motion to make this rescheduled date EXTRA special for y'all.

In other news, the folks on Patreon voted on their favorite ideas for a Jaimee Harris live stream. I'm putting things in motion to make a new live stream series happen for y'all and I've got some other exciting creative projects in the works, too. To be the first to know about all of it and to vote on your favorite concept ideas, join the Folk N' Roll Fan Club today!

How are y'all doing? How are you keeping things interesting? What is feeding your creative spirit? I love hearing from you, so please feel free to respond to this email. I'd love to know what is going on in your life.

Love,
Jaimee

"Texas Nights" Playlist for Country Queer

When the folks at Country Queer kindly asked if I'd put together a "Texas Nights" playlist for them, I enthusiastically agreed. I thought of all of those nights I spent driving around Texas and what I put on repeat. I hope you dig.
